The madness of King Stephen

There has been so much going on and so many good posts that are cross-related that it is hard to properly attribute the first reference. So tonight I am going to credit where I first saw the information and give some thoughts.

Harper seems to have lost his edge, hasn't he?
The almost incoherent rantings from Harper as he fights for his political life exposes one of his manifold shortcomings. He is undoubtedly a sharp man. Albeit one with severe personality defects. But he is not, as is so often reported a genius. He can plot out detailed strategies with the best of them. But when he loses the initiative he flounders. (The Galloping Beaver had a great post on Harper's reputation for genius.) This is partly why he did so poorly in the debates and shuns press conferences and scrums. He has trouble thinking effectively on the fly. This is a contributing factor to his poor performance this week.

So it follows that keeping him off balance would be a good strategy.

This would be one way to do accomplish that goal.
Convince the Conservatives that you are seriously considering doing this.

And now for as a conclusion I will desecrate one of my favourite books.
